Homemade Pizza Crust
This dough is easy to make by hand if you do not own a mixer. It produces a tasty and sturdy crust that is just begging to be overloaded with cheese and toppings! The dough will yield two pizzas that will each provide two slices for a family of four.

  1. In a medium size glass measuring cup, measure out the warm water. Using a food thermometer, check water to ensure it is 105-115 degrees. Add yeast and sugar and stir gently then set aside for 1 – 2 minutes until the yeast activates and is frothy on top.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift flour and salt, add in the olive oil and the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  3. Stir until soft and the mixture leaves the sides of the bowl.
  4. Form dough into a ball. Drizzle a small amount of olive oil in the bottom of a separate bowl and place the dough ball in the bowl then cover with plastic wrap.
  5. Set dough aside for an hour to rise.
  6. When dough has doubled in size remove from the bowl, separate into two balls, roll each of the dough balls out separately on a slightly floured surface.
